My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
I was wondering if I am legally considered a Para-transit vehicle. I drive a taxi wheelchair van. My company has a major account with access Para-transit. Our taxi cabs do have Para-transit stickers on all four sides of the vehicle. 90 percent of our trips are from the para-transit company. The customers we pick up are disabled, senior, or wheelchair bound. The customer pays a couple dollars to ride. The Taxi driver is compensated by the para-transit company on a later date. The question is .. Do I qualify to dead head in the carpool lane under VC 21655.5 ?? And am I considered to be a "paratransit vehicle" as defined in Section 462 ??? And I do drive a wheelchair minivan Taxi. I really want to utilize the hov lanes as part of my job. As i do many para-transit trips.
