My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Kentucky
My girlfriend and I signed a lease with an off campus property agent. However recently the management changed and the price was lowered significantly (nearly $1000 for the year) with new management. We weren't informed of the change in management and when we phoned up we were told that we will not be getting the new rate they are offering people signing up with them.
It sounds a little unfair that although they are 'honoring' the previous contract, we didn't sign the contract with them and are being charged the old rate. Is there anything that we can do such as request a new contract with their name on? They have told us they 'bought' the contract'.
Any thoughts would be very welcomed, thank you.
