Workers Compensation Issues: Getting Paid for Forced Days Off

mercredi 22 octobre 2014

I went to the workmen's comp doctor I was given to consult with a shoulder injury and after being progressed from just pain meds, to physical therapy, to a cat scan showing damage, they keep writing lighter work restrictions (I keep having a diff doc at the clinic every time) but straight told me he can't put me as off work, not sure that's legal either, can I get a different doc opinion? Anyway, I bring the restrictions in to work, and they usually tell me to go home those days, because they need time to figure out if they have work for me that fits the doctor's orders. Sometimes this will happen for 2 to 3 days straight. Should I be compensated for those days that they send me home? And then there's been cases where they call the clinic, and talk to I don't know who but not the doctor I see, who gives them changes to my work restrictions, which I don't feel is legal, this person never saw me and I didn't see them to discuss this. Who can I contact about any of this? Florida Dept of Workman's keeps telling me to talk to the insurance carrier, who I can never reach, just get voicemails that aren't responded to, and a lawyer isn't interested because apparently it's something that can heal over the course of 6 to 9 months, I'm not missing pieces I guess. Hopefully someone can at least clear that stuff up for me, thanks.
