Federal Taxes: How Quickly Can the IRS Foreclose on a Tax Lien

vendredi 23 janvier 2015

The IRS has demanded I get a loan "against the full equity" of my house on form 9297 Summary Of Contact. This demand was mailed January 12. with a date required for completion of January 30. There is a threat on this form that states

"If you fail to secure a loan against the full equity of the real property, the next action will be for the IRS to file a suit to foreclose the Notice Of Federal Tax Lien on you property located at [address] in order to satisfy a portion of the amount you owe. I will also continue to levy all income found and summons"

According to the IRS my CSED or collection expiration date is February 18. Does the IRS have enough time between Jan 30 and Feb 18 to actually foreclose?

My Notice Of Federal Tax Lien is dated 12/27
