So a few months ago I was stopped for going 89 on a 70mph zone on the highway at night after going down a hill while I was on a rental driving my friend to the airport. I showed the Canadian license that had the rental with (Ontario Canada) to the officer. They told me to call a number which I believe is the San Mateo court however calling them I could not get the information for the ticket (for example how much I am suppose to pay for it, so I have not yet received the bill). Also a week before I rented the car I did the California written test and a few weeks later I did my full California driving test. When I applied for the license back then, I used my Canadian to get the California license. I work in California with a visa (with Canadian passport).
I am not sure if the ticket will affect my license if I pay the fine (say if I had the bill and were to pay online) or not show up at all at court (since I didn't receive the bill yet because I wasn't able to contact them). And if I tried to dispute the ticket at court and the cop shows up, could I ask for classes to avoid the points? Will this affect my California license if I didn't have it back then but have it now?
