My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: NJ
It has been more than 2 months since I have moved out of the apartment in question here.
I had asked the landlord to do a walkthrough when vacating the apartment but he did not show up due to his own reasons.
45 days after I vacated the apartment he sent a mail stating that I had damaged his apartment - everything right from the plumbing and laundry to the tiles and the electrical outlets and he is claiming an amount which is 2.5 times the rent - all this so that he doesnt have to give my deposit back and he can get more money from me for renovating his apartment.
He hasnt sent the itemized official bill to me yet. I wanted to know the actions that I can take against the landlord in this case. Please advise
