My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Pennsylvania. However, I currently reside and pay child support through the state of Maryland. I paid 135.00$ to set up a hearing for visitation in MD but was never served a court date or heard back from the courthouse in which I applied. So I went back to see what was going on. Long story short they said it was their mistake, yet they won't give me my money back. They also told me that since my son has now been living in Franklin county, Pennsylvania, that I would have to apply there. Obviously, this upset me very much, being that it has already been over 6 months since I saw my child. So anyways, I called the Franklin county courthouse to see what I needed to do to set up a visitation hearing there. They told me that I would have to file for a custody hearing because they have no such thing as a visitation hearing in Pennsylvania, or at least in that county. They said in order to do this it will cost me $350 or so instead if the $135 it costed in Maryland, and that I can also file for financial aid if I have trouble paying it. So I told them I would like to do all of this, but once again she tells me that unlike Maryland, the courthouse does not supply these legal documents and that I have to get them myself. I asked how I would go about getting these documents, and they said they can't give me legal advice. So here I am now. I've tried searching for them online, I've tried going to social services and a local program for father's for help, but no luck. So my question to everyone is: where in the heck can I get this paperwork for Franklin county, Pennsylvania ???? If someone could please please help me I would greatly appreciate it. My son Aiden Is 5 years old and I've been In his life from day one up until 7 months ago when his mother stopped letting me see him for unknown reasons. Prior to that I was getting him 3-4 days and nights every single week. I have never abused him mentally or physically. I have the means to provide him with everything he needs plus some when he is with me. He has his own room, plenty of food, toys, you name it. So I see no reason why myself, being his biological father, would be denied the right to have him, even if it's only every other weekend. And by the way, no custody has been established in Maryland or Pennsylvania if that means anything. So please if someone could lead me on the right track to see my son I would appreciate it more than words can describe !! Thanks. Matt....
