My question involves labor and employment law for the state of N.Y. I am a EMT working for a private ambulance for the past year my company has decided to pay us flat rate for our services past 40 hours of work instead of overtime.now we do whats called a standby where we are contracted by a club or music event as a medical staff and that used to be flat rate pay cause you might not get a patient, but now on our regular shifts where we are guaranteed to have patients they want to pay us flat rate rather then overtime is this legal?
