I have read numerous sources and anecdotes online about merchant's suing or sending a customer to collections after losing a chargeback dispute.
I am currently in the process of a chargeback with my credit card company against a merchant.
I have asked the credit card dispute representatives numerous times about the merchant's rights should they lose a chargeback, and they all assure me that the merchant does NOT have the right to pursue any recourse after losing a chargeback and that the credit card's decision is final. Any attempt on the part of the merchant to recover the losses of a chargeback by collections or lawsuit would be fraudulent.
Can someone please explain to me which is correct?
