My question involves criminal law for the state of: NJ
I'm a mother of 3 children. Recently I left my mother's house due to family issues. With those family issues came charges in the state of NJ. I just recently receive a call from my ex-husband who has been speaking with my mother after I left. My Ex-husband explained to me that my mother is willing to drop all charges against me but I must 1. Publicly apologize to my mother, 2. give up custody of my older son to his father (ex-husband) and 3. give up custody of my middle son to my mother, and that I can keep my third son. These are the condition my mother made with my Ex-husband towards me.
Mind you I am happily married to a wonderful man for 7 years. All the children are in school preforming
excellent with high grades and the children are in good health and happy.
My question is; Is this considered extortion and what can I do?
