My question involves a power of attorney in the state of: Fl.
In March of 2012 my Mother's husband died. They lived in MI. My 3 sisters and I in FL. While doing all that was necessary to move my handicapped mother to my sister's home I obtained a durable power of attorney and had her make a will. I oversaw all the, let's say inconveniences, that go with such a situation. I sold the house and her husbands belongings, which all proceeds went to my Mom. I found out in a casual conversation that when opening up her bank account the banker suggested that my sister be named attorney at law as well as be co owner on the account. They drew the papers up.
I was not notified that I was revoked and the relationship with my sister is tense enough that I don't want to cause a scene and ask. Is my POA automatically revoked? I have concern because my sister and her husband have had drug issues and she was spending $500-$100 monthly of Mom's money. My Mom also pays $500 rent which is suppose to cover all utilities and groceries. She is 82 and in failing health.
In discussion about with my other sisters they said monitor it and let it go. Bank passwords have been changed and I cannot monitor them anymore. I'm confused where I sit legally. Is there an online source to find out if POA is revoked?
