My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: California
Hi Everyone,
I bought used 2011 SUV "as is" month and a half ago for $28500 before taxes and fees. When I was purchasing the car I didn't notice that it had damaged roof railing, I simply didn't look at the roof, and a month after my boyfriend noticed accidentally, he is much taller guy. We took it to the shop, and were told that part of the roof was painted, but the railing was never changed due to its expense probably, and it would cost us $2000 to change it. Which is necessary repair , cause it can lead to damaging my entire roof if water will be getting in there. Because the railing is bended and it doesn't go into the roof where it is supposed to, so there is a little hole and possibility for water to get inside. When I was purchasing vehicle I was provided with Autocheck report by the dealer that didn't indicate any accidents, so previous owner most likely fixed it himself by just painting the part of the roof and that's all, and later traded in the car. Is it possible to have the dealer pay for repair? what are my options? any advice would be appreciated, i don't know what to do.
