My question involves traffic court in the State of: CA
Hi All,
I have never been through this so I have the following questions;
1-when you request a trial de novo, can you literally plead no contest and ask for traffic school at the window to the clerk, right after you file your TDN request or do you have to wait to go to court to do it? (assuming you were originally eligible for traffic school when you first got the citation)
2- if you actually have to go to the TDN court date to request traffic school, what do you do if your officer is there and you don't want to deal with the it anymore and don't even really want to do a true rial and just want to plead no contest and ask for traffic school? Can you just say that at the outset (again, assuming the officer is there and your case isn't dismissed by the court)? And If you can do that, can you actually plead "no contest," or "not guilty," and ask for traffic school or do you by default have to plead guilty and then ask for traffic school?
