My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of Florida, I can't find a topic that I can post that kind of situation, sorry if is the wrong place.
I've moved from New Jersey to the house in Florida 20 days ago, and starts to find all kind of problems:
The house rented has a property manager, who knows everything about the problems found since before we entered the house.
- Electric: We have call a electric company to check the garage door and the pool light, which the owner was responsible to fix before we entered the house, and they found a lot of bad stuff: a) The house is no gfci protected(agains city regulations), b) there are no ground anywhere, c) the pool is not grounded!!!, someone could have died already!!
- Plumbing: The water is metaled, light orange color, because of the old pipes, the pool guy warn us to not use the water for anything even in the pool, it will damage the pool paint and the filter, and can't be drink too even by my dogs, who I'm giving bottles of water... unbelievable!
- Appliances: The dishwasher not work, the refrigerator has a major leak, the microwave door is falling a part: a handman come to see and said that, the it's all junkie!
- I just discovered that the house is in Foreclosure process too!!!!
After all the happening, all the lies that the house just needed to be paint...., I decide to investigate who is the landlord, and I discovered that: "Police charge Florida man as burglar team member targeting elderly homeowners" .... sick, disgusting!
I've paid $7,050.00 to enter in the house($2,350.00/first month + $2,350.00/last month + $2350.00/security deposit + $350/pet fee), and now I ask what should I do??? Is so many bad stuff that... I already removed all the expensive stuff from the house and put them in my office(electronics, jewelry, documents...) and will find other place to move again asap!!
Who knows what that sick people is planning to do!!, I'm in danger here, my family is in danger here!! we doesn't sleep anymore thinking someone will come to rob us! please help me!
What course of action. should I take? I don't know if the realtor is involved with this people too...
