Traffic Court Issues: California - Found Guilty on TBD Because "Bail Forfeited". is This an Error

lundi 13 avril 2015

My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

This involves a traffic ticket received on December 8, 2014. My original court appearance date was March 2, 2015.

I followed the usual suggested route in requesting a trial by declaration. I filled out the TR-205, submitted the traffic school fee in advance via online payment, and even submitted satellite photos detailing the officer was clearly incorrect, that the road configuration did not involve a double yellow line but that the line was broken on my side of the road. I have not received a response via mail yet. But, when I check the court's website, the case details show "NTC: FOUND GUILTY - TRIAL BY DECLARATION", with the decision being made on April 10, 2015. So, my guess is that it's still in the mail.

What bothers me in particular is when I view online, it shows:

"1. CHARGE: 2146(C) - IMPROPER TURN DOUBLE/SOLID LINES

DISPOSITION: 04/10/2015 - CONVICTED BY COURT

SENTENCE: 04/10/2015 - BAIL FORFEITED

2. CHARGE - TVS-FEE - TRAFFIC SCHOOL FEE"

So, it appears that the judge sentenced me to traffic violator school, but what do they mean "bail forfeited"? Can a TBD really be treated as a FTA? Am I interpreting this correctly?

And is there a way to re-instate the bail?
