My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: california.
My grandpa for years has told me that a few of us had a payable upon death account and were beneficiaries in a will. Six months after his death I learned that my mom (who was not in the will) was able to put her name as a joint owner to our accounts. She did this to four accounts total. After demanding the return of our money, she did so and we were all paid the right amounts.
Now the will is being probated and the executor (my mother's sister) is stating that we have all received our "advance" of our money through the will and is demanding signed receipts. The will specifically states the money for me as a "gift" and is se
