My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: CALIFORNIA
I have 2 questions.
I work for a small construction company. I am salary and the company currently owns me over $15K in back pay. I have been looking for other jobs and will be looking to leave soon. I want to know what steps I need to take to unsure I receive my back pay.
Also, I have used my own personal computer and email for work. I currently have most of the company proposals and sales data for the last year on my personal computer, I have the only copies of the data as the owner has never asked for the data or provided a company location to store or back it up. He is now wanting the data and I am wondering of I can refuse to hand it over until my back pay is cleared up.
