My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Colorado
My daughter and her husband have a 19 month old son. They are just now filing for divorce. The father lives about 90 miles away (in the same state) and had their son over the weekend for a visit. He now refuses to return the child to my daughter. He also refuses to reveal where the child currently is.
Since their separation about five weeks ago, the verbal agreement has been that the father has visitation each weekend and the mother has care of the child during the week.
Initial divorce papers were only signed a few days ago.
Does my daughter have any recourse, since there has, as of yet, been no court proceedings?
