My question involves real estate located in the State of: South Carolina
Can a selling agent knowingly refer the buyer to a lender at which the seller works?
I had a lender lined up but I asked for a list of lenders from the selling agent, to compare rates. Later, I contacted the first person listed on the list. They took my info, promised me better rates and organized a meeting to go over info. However, they then revealed that they were the owner/seller of the home and would be passing me over to a different agent at the lender. I was concerned but they did offer better rates. Was this legal?
