Criminal Records: Youthful Offender Disposition Was Reported as a Misdemeanor Conviction

My question involves criminal records for the state of: New York

When I was 17 I got in trouble and had an incident that was classified as a Class E felony. I received a youthful offender adjudication where my records would be sealed and purged from the FBI database, thus clearing my background for employment. Over 7 years later, I just started a new job with an investment bank, and under 2 months in, I receive a notice from FINRA that I must go on a leave of absence for 2 weeks, where I will be provided time to prove I'm not a convicted felon otherwise I face termination. I investigated in the matter, and $500 in lawyer fees later I found out the town court screwed up my conviction and tried me as an adult with the crime being deemed a misdemeanor. Following that, the DCJS messed up the already messed up information and sent my false charge to the FBI database as a felony. I was correct in the matter the whole time, with both the town court and DCJS clearing up their errors allowing my charge to be sealed. My question is, do I have a case to sue the town court if I lose my job due to their faulty reporting? This is simply a ridiculous situation I'm in where something that should never have come up again is haunting me because of an employee's blunder over 7 years ago.
