Custody and Visitation Issues: My Brother Has Had Legal Custody for 8 Years Can I Petition/Court to Enforce Visitati

dimanche 1 mars 2015

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Louisiana

In 2007 I agreed to give my brother custody with the understanding he would return him to me when I was on my feet again (huge mistake on my part). I thought I was agreeing to guardian ship but it turns out it was legal custody. He was ordered to give me reasonable visitation which he has refused and has alienated me and my daughter from his life for 8 years (w/very little contact). I haven't had access to the money in order to pay an attorney until now. Is there a chance I can have the visitation enforced/modified to unsupervised fixed visitation or even regain custody? I believe that what is best is we are all part of his life however I am not expecting that to happen without getting the court involved so I was exploring what option IF any do I have. Refusing us can't be what is best.
