My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Florida
The NCP and I established an agreement at mediation that he would visit with his mother who was already visiting our son for the next three months our 10 month old son that he's never met for the months of February, March & April "as time permits" because he goes to school 3 hours away.
I've been very nice about everything and even took our son to visit his family in Palm Beach a few weekends ago.
He has not shown up once or even tried to make an arrangement to see his son in February and I recently asked him to give me dates in March that he would want to come so that I could take off work and now those days he says he "might not be able to come."
The agreement says that starting in May he is to come pick up our son and take him for the weekends every other weekend. If he's never seen him before how would that work? My son doesn't like being around strangers that he doesn't know and I'm sure spending a whole weekend with his father isn't going to go so well with him.
Is there a way I could ask for a modification until he establishes some type of relationship with our son? I don't want him not to have visitation but to just hand over our 10 month old to him for a whole weekend when he's never been around him before isn't making me feel too secure about the situation especially when he's never taken care of an infant.
