Federal Taxes: Filling Out the IRS 433a for Offer in Compromise

samedi 7 mars 2015

I'm preparing an IRS Offer in Compromise myself to attempt to settle an outstanding tax debt. I'm stuck on a few items on the 433a form. My situation is that I have back tax debt for which my wife has no responsibility. I understand that as we both contribute to the household, I need to provide her income and expenses. Is this correct? Do her income and expenses help to calculate my payment potential, even though she has no responsibility on this debt? I could use a bit of guidance in preparing this form. I cannot afford to pay to have someone prepare this offer for me.:wallbang:
