My question involves a power of attorney in the state of: Wisconsin.
My father passed away in Sept. 2013 in WI. My mother has since gone into a nursing home and had been deemed incapacitated with advanced dementia. She was moved back to NY from WI a little over a year ago. Everything was left to me in their will except for a small sum of money left to my bother and his youngest of 3 daughters. I'm trustee, power of attorney and health care power of attorney. It's a revocable trust. I would like to resign from everything and have the state take over. Which state do I apply to, WI or NY? Again, I am in WI and my mother is in NY.
My parents didn't choose an alternate for anything other than me.
