My question involves a relationship in the state of: tennessee
So, my ex-fiancé moved out about 2 months ago... I purchased a condo 2 years ago shortly after getting engaged. The mortgage is in my name, but because I'm an idiot/hopeless romantic I put her name on the deed about a year ago after we got back together after month breakup... I think her name is on the purchase agreement as well, but they didn't put her on the deed at first.
She did not put anything into the down payment or pay any bills. She paid the HOA fee which is roughly 25% of the mortgage payment (Hasn't paid that since she left) . Unfortunately, from what I've seen, I think I'm in a bad spot.
There is around 100k in equity due to the increase in market value, improvements, etc. since she isn't on the mortgage, I think I can ask her for 50% of the taxes & what else? I wish she'd just take her name off the deed..
NOT to mention, I cosigned for a car she's been driving a little over a year as well. I've made every payment this far. We are upside-down because she didn't put the $5,000 she was suppose to get from selling her & her dad's car because one turned out to be her mom's & she felt like she should not have to put the $2,500 in after the fact. The difference in loan-to-value is about the 2,500... Lol, right?
I'm not vindictive and only want what is right. Do I have any outs?
