My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: Missouri.
I bought a car from a private seller on 2/6/15 in MO where I live. Went to license bureau on 2/6/15 to obtain temp tags for 30 days so it could be driven while I saved money for titling and registration fees. Found out at license bureau from the seller there was a prior lien but she said the lien was paid off and she would get me the lien release. Well, my temp tag expires tomorrow and I don't have the lien release. So, she illegally sold me the car since it has a lien. I have possession of the car. She has filled out the back of title assigning it over to me but I can't title it because of lien. Yes, I was scammed but now what do I do?? Is it my car? She will not answer my calls.
