My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon (where the "victim" resides)
So someone online humiliated me in regards to me calling them out for a racist post they made, so in turn I ended up threatening to report them to the IRS for tax evasion (something this girl admitted to online, probably doesn't report thousands per year) and now they are accusing me of threatening her and her family's safety. Later I told her to "watch her back" but I've never made an explicit threat that I was going to physically harm her. Apparently tomorrow she's going to talk to a civil lawyer and attempt to take legal action against me (I suppose) for the threats and for stalking and she claims to have my IP address. Literally the only fact about her that I've let her know is that I know her first name and called her by it (she's a stripper so she doesn't exactly want that sort of stuff known) but that's public information that was easily there, not like she's under some hardcore witness protection program.
Does she have a legal leg to stand on here? She lives in Oregon, I live in Iowa but i'm staying in Nebraska right now so it's not like I have intentions of going to her, and I didn't say that I was planning to go to her either. I did message her a few times about her disgusting behavior... but odds are she blocked me anyways so it's not like she's received multiple pages upon pages of my messages. Of course I've stopped now. And yes... I know and wish I would've just left it alone but sometimes anger gets the best of me.
