Traffic Lane Violations: Cannot Pay Ticket Online is Court Appearance Mandatory

jeudi 12 mars 2015

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California

Hi,

I received a citation back in October 2014. Original court date was mid December 2014, but the officer did not submit the paperwork in time. I did show up in court and got paperwork from the clerk proving I was there.

I eventually got notices informing the court date had been rescheduled, and that the officer corrected one of the offenses from 26700 to 26708, which is now finally correct. I just received paperwork from the courts.

Offenses cited for:

VC 23302(c) FAIL TO PAY TOLL

VC 5200 (a) NO PLATES (CORRECTABLE)

26708 (a) (1) FRONT SIDE TINT (CORRECTABLE)

Bail is set at $288. Courthouse is Pasadena, CA.

I just want this whole thing to pass, so I just want to pay the ticket.

This is what it says on the ticket:

Quote:

TO PAY THIS CITATION:

ONLINE: VISIT LA.COURT.ORG AND SELECT "TRAFFIC TICKETS," OR

BY PHONE: CALL 213 742 1928, OR

BY MAIL: SEND BAIL AMOUNT (PAYABLE TO LA SUPERIOR COURT) AND THE PAYMENT COUPON TO ADDRESS BELOW....

So I tried paying online, and it only gives me the option or either scheduling an extension, or selecting a date and time preference for the court.

I tried calling the number too, and it gives me the same option.

If I just send the check for $288 with this payment coupon, does this mean the whole case is then closed?

Or does this mean I need to show up in court regardless of whether I send in the payment?

I do not want to dispute the case at all. I just want to pay it off, have the case closed, and be done with this.

I tried calling the court but no one is picking up......

Please advise. Thank you.
