My question involves a child custody case from the State of: TX
Divorce order from TX but both parents reside in other states besides TX. During the divorce proceeding the father failed to show up at any court hearing and failed to comply with court instructions. One thing the court ordered was that both parents to attend a co-parenting workshop. The mother attended but the father did not, even thou he was aware of this requirement. The court ruled in the final divorce order that the father is not to have any access to the child until he completes the workshop. After an entire year of no contact the father sends me an email wanting the child to call him. The court order says no access (including telephone) so if I do allow phone call can I be held in contempt with the court order? If I don't allow telephone contact could that come back to haunt me in the future.? The father problem is drugs and I don't want my child negatively affected by this.
