My question involves restraining orders in the State of: CA
I have an extremely aggressive and threatening neighbor family that is out of control. This is our view being on the receiving end of the abuse. What I would like to learn is what the courts would consider violent? Where is the line?
The police told us we need a restraining order (I personally think these people have no boundaries to begin with, how will that help?) From what little knowledge I do have with these things.. There is a charge for a restraining order if the behavior is non-violent, but it's free if it is violent.
Without my going into extensive details, does anyone know the answer to this?
I can't afford the, what? $500. But don't really feel like waiting to see if they have a gun either.
Verbal = annoying
Property damage = just such.... However what if that damaged property was aligned in my yard in such a way (twice) that my dogs would be seriously injured if not killed if I hadn't found them first. Now there are metal chunks and rusty screws thrown in my yard and on the driveway. Our driveway blocked. Other items tossed across driveway (caught on film) and months of other similar behavior. Behavior has escalated this week.
