My question involves restraining orders in the State of: California and Florida
Is my ex able to get a restraining order from California against me in Florida, from me texting? After finding out about her lies and dealing with her excessive verbal abuse, I vented via email and text message to her (as, once I confronted her with the knowledge of the lies, she again verbally abused me, threatened to slander me to her very large social media following, went and did "defame" me to others-told them lies that they believe-and then she hung up on me and let me say nothing). Since the incident over a month ago, I have texted her on three different occasions, expressing my hurt toward what went on (I know, it's wasteful, not the thing to do, pointless etc.) I never have and never would threaten her in any way. In fact, I told her in the initial e-mail the night of everything happening, that I would not be attempting to affect her career or relationships in any way by making the truth publicly known-even after she went and slandered me privately. The most I did was tell her that I can no longer protect our relationship to my friends and will have to go to them for support in the situation-and that what she did is very screwed up. To clarify, this was a relationship between two women.
She has once been under investigation for illegal activity (nothing horrible..nothing drug related) and it was dropped because she had a good lawyer. I am afraid she will come at me, because she is the type of person who would say all the time "I'm going to sue this and that" "I'm going to get this and that done (involving the law)" about a lot of minor things.
