Hi guys,
I have developed a program in my spare time which directly benefits the company I work for it has genuinely been in my own time. I have now presented the idea to my company and asked for one week personal training with an expert in the field in order to fill my gaps in knowledge and give me the tools I need to finish & perfect the program.
The company granted me the training (two weeks from now) with the view of using the completed program. I have no problem with this however, if I decide to leave the company, are they legally entitled to retain my work? Nothing has been signed. It is not yet fully known whether the program will actually be a success when it is put into action.
Any help or information on the subject would be greatly appreciated before I accept the training.
Additionally, I have been asked to sign a clawback letter which, if I leave within two years after the training has been completed, entitles them to reclaim the money pro rata.
Thanks in advance for any help. Wasn't entirely sure which section this should have been posted in...apologies if I have made a mistake.
