I live in Ohio and have been told by a forum website that I am a member of that the have been subpoenaed for my IP Address. The issue is all over a thread that I had created on the site where I was talking about some issues within the local high school, I did not name any students by name but one of the parents decided to file a personal injury claim over the thread and is trying to get my IP Address to out me which may cause me more harm with retaliation for past posts that I may have done. Can anyone help me and let me know what my first step should be to stop this and not let my identity get out. I know about quashing the subpoena and making sure that the file is sealed, but when can I do that, do I have to wait until I or my internet provider have been given a subpoena? Really need help with this.
