My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Cited by CHP on our honeymoon leaving Napa en route to SF. Allegedly going 94 in a 55, the officer mentioned the speed after I gave him my credentials and FL license. As stated, leaving Napa 2 lane undivided hwy, going uphill in moderate traffic, at around 5:30p with dusk conditions. I'd like to know if Letter by Declaration is eligible (or worth it), if I can request discovery for speed evidence, and/or being that I live on the other side of the U.S., should I hire an attorney. I planned to write the letter myself if able, as some attorney prices are laughable. I have 1 previous infraction on my record, and haven't been to traffic school. I can appreciate the sensitive nature of Napa, but to charge upwards of $500 to submit a LOD is preposterous, I'd rather save that money for our house fund. What are my options?
