My question involves traffic court in the State of: Washington, Benton County.
So I got a ticket for doing 53 in a 30 recently in Benton County, city of Kennewick. As to the infraction itself, I do not believe myself to be going that fast. However I also won't argue that I didn't do it, either way my question is simple. On the ticket there were a few things that stuck out to me. I've done enough research to know the first one is likely a dead end, being the RCW code not having the subsection mentioned. The second on the ticket itself was no color of vehicle being mentioned. Once I get to a scanner I will scan in a copy of the ticket and my request for discovery which I should have in 2-3 days.
It was interesting stop as I wasn't aware I was being pulled over. Was just pulled into the place of business I was going to when I noticed lights on behind me. The office who got off his motorcycle walked up and stated "this is going to be expensive." Asked for my information walked off and as he approached the vehicle he simply stated "I clocked you at 52, followed and paced you at 40."
I didn't say anything to the officer about the situation I simply replied "ok" to avoid anything going wrong given he seemed rather agitated.
Just based on this, anything that might come from me arguing the missing color on the ticket?
