Traffic School: Traffic School + Bail

lundi 23 mars 2015

My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

San Diego County.

Hi, this is my first post so feel free to move it if its not the correct sub-forum. I tried the search function but couldnt find something that satisfied my questions.

I was wondering, as I've read various posts in different websites about going to traffic school instead of just settling the ticket, however from what I've read, agreeing to go to Traffic School should reduce the bail amount. I was surprised when I logged into the court website and saw the following:

Pay $239.00 to settle your case.*

Request a one-time 30-day extension of the appearance date.

Request Traffic School and pay $291.00 bail.*

So, it is very much cheaper to just settle the case than to go to traffic school, I was wondering why this is, or if I am misunderstanding what the website is referring to. Is the things I've read wrong? (the fact about reducing bail if you go to traffic school).

Additionally, from what I've read, one minor traffic offense wont raise your insurance, unless you get more than one every so often years, is this statement correct?

Thank you very much!
