My question involves juvenile law in the State of:
I'm 17 years old I live in Kentucky and I am graduated from high school. I have a job working 30 hours a week to pay off some college debt before I return this fall. Before I go into detail about this let me explain that my parents are great people, but are very controlling christian parents. They just don't trust my judgment! I'm probably going to sound like the typical teenage girl, but I feel I am making the best decisions for my life at this time.
My parents are pastor so we moved a lot growing up. We moved back to my home town about 3 years ago! I graduated and started college last year and was doing great. I got a job and have been supporting myself ever since I was 16. My parents just recently started pastoring a church about 45 minutes from where I work. I decided to stay with my grandparents until I turned 18 (which is 7 months away) so I could still work at my current job and go to college in August (which is in the town that I work). I stayed at my grandparents for about a month and just recently my parents went completely controlling and said I was to quit my job and move in with them again until I turn 18. They explained that they would be paying my bills and I was to no longer see my boyfriend who I have been with for awhile. (once again i sound like a normal teenage girl) My problem is that I enjoy working I take pride in supporting myself and i'm able to move up to management in November. My parents love control especially of there kids and I cannot handle them anymore! My question is can I gain emancipation and move out of my parents in Kentucky or will I have to endure this nonsense for 7 more months?
