My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Hello to everyone on this forum. I was very hesitant to start a thread because I am sure thousands of similar threads have already been posted.
I have lurked for a long time and finally decided to create a user account.
I just received the citation last night: Two separate envelopes:
1. from: Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department
Santa Clarita Vallley Staion
C/O Traffic enforcement office
PO Box 42034
Phoenix AZ 85080
( this is the one that has my photos)
2. Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles
Central District-Metropolitan Courthouse
1945 South Hill Street
Los Angeles, CA 90007
( this one has my citation # , and the Bail amount $238.00, the issue date and Due date and the Violation: 22101D
I have not made any attempt to contact the Superior Court /or its website with my citation.
I have read many mixed reviews about , ignoring, Red light tickets in LA County.
Santa Clarita is part of LA County, but unlike many Los Angeles cities , we still have several intersections with red light cameras.
I have a clean driving record, I haven't had a ticket in the past 10 plus years.
All the threads that I have read and searched within this forum are from last year or even before. My question to those with experience in Santa Clarita:
do I need to respond by the due date, I am planning on fighting the ticket regardless. But I would like to know if this is a valid citation and I need to respond or is it OK to ignore it, like many articles suggest. The only issue is that most of the articles are based on the City of LA, and in Santa Clarita, we are part of LA County but not part of the city of Los Angeles.
Can someone with more up to date information and experience with this type of ticket in Santa Clarita please chime in with valuable information and provide some sound ADVISE, before I proceed .
