Emancipation: What Are the Chances of Me Being Emancipated

lundi 20 octobre 2014

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Michigan.

I feel like the likelihood of me being emancipated is slim to none because other may not think that my reason is good enough. Multiple times my mom has threatened me in many ways. We got in a fight on Sunday over something so ridiculous. She started screaming at my because I liked a black kid and I am white. She said if I wanted to date a black kid then get out of her house, she won't have it. No, this isn't the reason I want to leave. She constantly screams at me over ridiculous things like this. We got in a fight about two weeks ago because of my grades, I had a D+ in one class. Once again, she threatened to kick me out over something so freaking petty. She has hit me before, I made a report about it but nothing happened. It was not a normal parent disciplining their child, she full on kicked and punched me. I am tired of living in a household where I am being threatened to be kicked out. I'm overly stressed living with my mom, I am not happy. I don't want to leave the school that I am going to if that's possible. I doubt that my dad would let me live with him, I haven't brought it up yet. I want to know my chances before I say anything about it. I am 15 and wouldn't file a petition until I turn 16, which is in March. I will be looking for a job when I get home from school today so I can save up to leave. Thank you for any help.
