Traffic Court Issues: Failure to Appear for a Traffic Ticket

jeudi 2 octobre 2014

My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

In July 2010 I was pulled over for expired registration, also had an expired drivers license so my car was towed. Same day I went to pay registration and renew drivers license and got my car out. I had to go to the CHP office and show them the paperwork to get a release form.

Stupidly I thought it was fine as I had gone to chp to show that I had updated everything.

Since my license was expired it had my previous address on it so I didn't receive any further information. Then yesterday I was pulled over because the officer ran my plates and a warrant popped up. He wrote me a ticket that shows a court date and it says 40508(a) cvc failure to appear bail $1,125 and let me go.

What the Heck have I gotten myself into? Am I going to be arrested? I thought that since I had showed the chp everything, and that I have been able to get my car registered for the last 4 years with no problem that it was over.

What do I need to expect when I go into court? Will I have to pay the bail amount? Can I get it reduced?

Thanks in advance for any advice
