I'm trying to collect some money from the State Controller. Have to locate a relative's will. The search that I did came up empty, but now I'm wondering if the court was not thorough enough. I listed a first, maiden first name, and last name (via marriage) in my request to the court. Is it possible that the name might have been listed as first, maiden LAST name, marriage name, and therefore the court didn't go the extra mile in locating the name? Are they that lazy at the courts?
