Trespass: Tresspasser Refuses to Remove Horses

jeudi 26 mars 2015

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Michigan

We are renting 40 acres with 5 acres across the street. When we moved in, a woman who was living across the road that borders the far side of the 5 acres was being evicted. She had her horses on pasture adjoining the five acres, and moved her horses and several sheds onto the five acres that we are renting, claiming that we gave verbal permission for her to do so. The landowner has sent her a letter(via certified mail )telling her to vacate the property and stating that she is trespassing. She is refusing to remove the animals and outbuildings and the local law enforcement doesn't seem to know whether or not we have a right by law to remove them. No trespassing signs border all sides of the 5 acres and every time she feeds the horses she is trespassing. Do we(or the landowner ) have a legal right to remove her property from the land? Thank you
