My question involves child support in the State of: New York
I live in New York and my ex (girl friend never a wife)and child lives in Florida...my 19yr old daughter goes to college but her mother declined child support 14 yrs ago before leaving new York. My daughter is away in college for 11 months out of the year and is not with her mom for those months (she lives and eats on campus)...can she now contact new York (she was declined in Florida because my daughter was over 18) and get either "back child" support ( there was never a order) or child support now until my daughter is 21 years old? I have been giving my daughter monies for years and have the proof it, but can she get it from florida or will she have to come up to new York and petition directly?
