I am thinking specifically of Oberlin College in OH, however, it seems many colleges are receiving student requests and demands to forgive their poor grades for the entire semester or part of the semester, as long as they are not white because the Mike Brown episode upset them so much. At Oberlin they specifically are wanting no non white student to receive any final grade lower than C for any class.
To me it seems like a bunch of non white students that received lousy grades are attempting to get a free ride for entire classes or a second bite of the apple for flunked tests during the last half of the semester. My opinion is they should receive the grade they earned. They are not children. A college giving out free grades or second chances to only non white students is absurd. They are adults and should be held to the standard of adults. I suppose we should then allow any non white fired in the last 3 months for performance issues to have their jobs back with retro pay and drop charges against any non white criminals arrested for actions that occurred in the past 3 months if we are to follow the logic behind this trend.
