My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: New Jersey
I am interpreting my 6 month apartment lease which says 60 days notice I need to give to terminate lease. If I give notice a few days before lease expires, can I stay 60 days counting from day of notice, at the same rental rate amount. Or will I have to pay the automatic renewal Month to Month rate of 1.5 times the 12 month lease rate. If I accept the 12 month lease, and after give my 60 day notice, I will have to pay damages beyond the 60 days, until the apartment is re-rented. Can you clarify this issue. Thank you.
